Step 1. Base and structure
The set begins with strong, sculpted nails to act as the canvas. A balance of glossy and matte finishes is layered in from the very start, setting the tone for a mystical and textured look.
Step 2. Building dimension
Meg layered colours, powders, and intricate brushwork to create depth across the nails, alternating between smooth washes of colour and textured detailing. This combination creates the illusion of scales and movement, reminiscent of a dragon’s skin.
Step 3. The 3D dragon eye
The star of the set is the 3D dragon eye, created with a mix of builder gel, pigments, and - most importantly - a brand new product launching soon at Naio Nails. The result is a multi-dimensional eye that seems to glow, shifting as the light hits it, just like a real dragon’s gaze. This focal point transforms the whole design into something truly magical.
Step 4. Accents and metallics
To elevate the fantasy theme, Meg added intricate detailing with fine brushes and dotting tools. Metallic decals and a Fleur De Lis charm were placed carefully for regal, armour-like accents. These golden touches tie the mystical theme together and give the set a jewellery-inspired finish.
Step 5. Seal and finish
Once every detail was in place, Meg sealed the design with alternating layers of glossy top coat and ultra-matte top coat. This contrast enhances the depth of the scales and makes the dragon eye stand out even more.
